Poll: 1/3 of SMBs undecided on Presidential vote

While a large number of US citizens have become quite vocal about their upcoming vote for President, small business owners remain largely undecided. That's the word from a new Manta poll which found that between one-third and one-half of SMB owners in swing states have yet to make a firm voting decision.

Manta's researchers found that while Donald Trump is leading overall, but that the difference between his lead and those who are undecided about how they will vote in only 4%. On a national scale, 38% of small business owners now say they will vote for Trump; 26% report plans to vote for Clinton. But, 34.6% say they still haven't made up their minds about who to vote for come November.

"Though the race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the general electorate has been close over the past few months, Trump has maintained his lead among small business owners, most notably those in the crucial swing states. While this lead is promising for Trump, it's important to note that many small business owners in these swing states remain undecided. With just about two months to go until election day, more small business owners will likely start paying closer attention to the race, the upcoming debates and where the candidates stand on important small business issues. We could see a significant shift once those small business owners make their decisions," said John Swanciger, CEO, Manta.

Breaking the poll down by state:

• 22% of SMBs want more details about the candidate's economic plans
• 20% want healthcare reform
• 19% want more details about immigration policies
• 17% want more information about national security
