First, Recurly has launched a gift subscription service, just before the holiday shopping season heats up. The Recurly Gift Subscriptions platform offers both gift cards and plans geared toward attracting new customer to subscription model ecommerce.

"Subscriptions strike a chord with givers and recipients who are looking to share the things they love with friends and family," said Dan Burkhart, CEO of Recurly. "Recurly Gift Subscriptions are an ideal way for businesses to expand their subscriber base while giving consumers the ability to choose the gift option best suited to the needs of those on their shopping lists."

Meanwhile, NetElixir has launched a digital customer service tool called Ask the Expert. The tool is set up to help small digital retailers answer customer questions; it has been launched as part of the LXR Marketplace, which houses other free tools for small businesses.

"One of our main objectives at NetElixir is to help small and midsize retailers survive the digital revolution. After four years of building out and managing the tools within LXRMarketplace, we understood that these businesses sometimes needed extra guidance, which led us to create our Ask the Expert tool," said Udayan Bose, founder and CEO of NetElixir. "Rather than giving generic answers, which an average user can find online, our experts are providing personalized responses to inquiries that are helping to guide digital marketing decisions."
