Top 3 tips to better use buy buttons

Social marketing is beginning to come into its own, and while most shoppers are still mainly sharing their purchases a growing number are clicking on those posts with the intent to buy. That means retailers and brands need to have a buy button strategy in place. Here are our top three tips to implement a strong buy button strategy.

1. Simplify the purchase process.

"The best way to encourage sales is to cut out as many steps of the purchase process as possible. Unless consumers are dedicated to making a purchase, they will lose interest if they're forced to complete too many steps. Rather than forcing consumers to jump from site to site, buy buttons allow them to make a purchase quickly and efficiently," said Chris Dalton, CEO of CloudCraze.

2. Present opportunities "in-context."

"Not only do buy buttons shorten the purchase process, but they allow retailers to encourage purchases while potential buyers are beginning the browsing process. By strategically placing links "in-context" of relevant, organic conversations on social media, consumers are able to immediately purchase something that is currently on their minds without switching apps, windows or screens," said Dalton.

3. Insert personal interactions into the online sales process.

"Consumers are increasingly opting to make purchases online instead of going into a physical store, which prevents retailers from building a personal relationship with their customers," said Dalton. "By educating and engaging with consumers on products via online communities and providing in-context buy buttons, retailers can increase customer loyalty and boost their bottom line."
