Ecommerce Roundup: Solutions for engagement

In the big lead-up to the holiday shopping rush, two new releases are on the scene. From BuyVia and TouchCommerce, the new solutions should help to increase customer engagement.

First, BuyVia has launched a concierge service for brands. It's called the Personal Shopping App and is available on the iPhone. The app allows consumers to enter the product they want and the price they're willing to pay; through the app, they're notified with that product becomes available at that price.

"We specifically created this App for busy shoppers who want good deals, but don't necessarily have the time or inclination to be tracking down coupons, monitoring prices changes, or comparison shop around," said Norman Fong, CEO of BuyVia. "Not only will our in-house experts be helping their search for bargains, but we are also opening it up to users. They get into the fun of meeting this challenge, and the incentive of earning points and prizes for helping other users score a deal!"

And TouchCommerce has launched TouchSocial, a new platform that allows brands to use both live and automated responses to deal with customer service.

"Consumers trust the opinions of their social network much more than messages coming directly from the brand," said Bernard Louvat, president and CEO of TouchCommerce. "With the launch of TouchSocial, our clients have a unique opportunity to turn a social conversation into a personalized engagement experience that harnesses the power of social media to extend the reach of the brand. Truly personalized, real-time interactions can deeply enhance customer satisfaction, attract new buyers and boost revenues."
