SMBs concerned about economy, healthcare

Small businesses are moving with the times, and finding more reasons to be optimistic. According to a recent Rocket Lawyer survey nearly half of small businesses (47%) are using mobile apps daily, with younger business owners leaning more heavily on apps for their business.

"This is good news - Main Street businesses are increasingly optimistic and focused on growth," said Charley Moore, founder and executive chairman of Rocket Lawyer. "Mobile technology is rapidly entering the mainstream of everyday commerce. That's why our customers expect Rocket Lawyer to deliver simple and affordable legal services anytime, anywhere, on any device."

Most small businesses remain concerned about the economy and healthcare reform - and believe these issues should continue to be at the top of the government's radar. More than 40% of SMBs surveyed by Rocket Lawyer say the economic recovery should 'remain the focus' of government attention.

Meanwhile, new data out from ChoiceStream indicates which audience segments will cost business owners more. Their new Audience Cost Calendar finds the most expensive audience segments include Career/Education and Holidays/Events.

"In the last month, there has been much more diversification in the top 20 performing segments," said Bill Guild, vice president, product management and marketing at ChoiceStream. "Travel continues to be a popular segment as more consumers have vacations on their minds with the nice weather and kids out of school. However, there are new segments debuting on the top 20 list this month, including Sports: Pro Ice Hockey, Careers: Marketing and Education: Graduate Degree."

The increase in the holiday/event segment is to be expected with the summer holiday season in full swing.
