Platform takes some real estate transactions paperless

Real estate may have been one of the first business categories to truly take advantage of online offerings like photo galleries and contact forms, but one new platform may help real estate professionals like landlords take their business to the next level. Called LeaseRunner, the platform is a suite of tools allowing for online applications, background checks and even online payments for renters.

The big real estate companies like ReMax and Coldwell Banker have been able to take advantage of online tools for years. A new tool, geared toward smaller real estate professionals and property owners may change the real estate game for small businesses and sole proprietors.

"With individuals owning 55% of the 38 million residential rental units in the US#, property leasing and management now falls to both individual landlords as well as real estate professionals, and we wanted to offer all customers an easy, comprehensive and paperless solution adaptable for both residential and commercial properties," said Joe Buczkowski, founder and CEO of "By providing a comprehensive property leasing suite, LeaseRunner eliminates common pain points for customers surrounding the transactional processes for rental properties, ensuring that everyone involved - landlords, property managers, real estate brokers, and tenants - has an improved user experience."

LeaseRunner allows prospective renters to fill out online applications and, for the property owner, to conduct background checks and receive e-signatures on documents. It also collects payments online, making it a paperless solution, and since it operates in the cloud there is no clunky software slowing down computers or taking up office space.
