Google launches page speed analyzer for PC and mobile websites
It has long been known that slow-loading websites are a major turn-off to Internet surfers, with about 2 seconds being the limit of their waiting time before abandoning the site and moving on.
To help website owners better optimize their websites, and avoid the potential financial impact of a slow-loading website, Google has launched a new Labs feature called Page Speed Online.
It’s easy to use. After entering a URL, prioritized suggestions for ways to improve speed performance are instantly received.
Furthermore, Google has added the ability to analyze mobile-specific website speed, particularly on smartphones, for which it also offers performance-enhancing solutions.
A recent study by mobile website optimization firm Blaze.io found that the iPhone took 52% longer than Android to render full web pages – 3.2 seconds compared to Android’s 2.1. Or did it?
