Go large with your Facebook Page profile picture

Facebook allows images of up to 200pix wide x 600pix high to be used as profile images on Facebook Pages, a veritable skyscraper. By adding a larger profile image to a Facebook Page businesses are able to up the branding on the page, for free.

QuickOnlineTips’ Facebook Page currently demonstrates how this larger size image would look. Unfortunately, the tech blog doesn’t appear to have taken their own advice to choose an image that would also work within the small square displayed alongside wall posts and such like.

To make a Page look less like Facebook and more in line with your brand identity, there are plenty of applications to choose from. Vangie Beal, managing editor of Webopedia.com, recently suggested applications such as Static FBML and RSS feeds as among the most useful, although a search on Facebook itself will reveal many more thousands available for use. They key is to choose the ones that are relevant to your brand and audience and not clog up the Facebook Page with too much extraneous noise.
