Ad Management Tool Debuts From DoubleClick

The new platform, called the Dart Sales Manager, reduces data entry, standardizes ad offerings and is more accurate in tracking end to end sales, according to the company.

In a statement, Jonathan Bellack, VP of publisher solutions said, “[It will] automate the repetitive and error-prone tasks that are required to convert RFPs into proposals, proposals into insertion orders, insertion orders into delivering ads, and delivered ads into accurate invoices.”

There are two basic modules for the program. The Proposal Module (offered for pre-sales) offers pre-defined rate card and inventory packages, workflow management and real time management for inventory and changing orders. The Finance Module (offered for post-sales) offers simple billing and reconciliation as well as revenue reporting features.

Online ad sales for the Third Quarter of 2006 are expected to be solid. Piper Jaffray & Co. estimate that Q3 will see about a 30% online ad growth. That is on par with the first half of 2006.

According to DoubleClick, the company serves up more than 8 billion ads daily. By streamlining the pre and post sale processes online advertisers can see a difference in the bottom line.
