Apple expects iTV to be available during the first quarter of 2007 for $299. The iTV is a little network media box that will stream all iTunes-based media, including music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos, from a PC or Mac to a HDTV and home audio system. The point here is to let consumers enjoy all content on a big screen TV and home theater system, from a sofa rather than having to be in front of a computer.

Now that journalists and tech pundits have been given the opportunity of see a preview of iTV, the big thing now is to discuss if the product is really the media box that everybody have been waiting for.

In the CNET Alpha blog, technology experts are also raising several issues of concern related to iTV file compatibility, resolution, wireless networking protocols, storage, product cost and support.
