Increasing Revenue with Social SharePoint Part I: Collaborative Strategies
In past Social Business research, Aberdeen identified 82 companies using Microsoft SharePoint as a primary collaboration solution and compared them to 188 other companies using other collaborative solutions. Aberdeen then focused more closely on SharePoint users by separating the top 30% from a Return on Investment and revenue growth perspective to see how top-achieving companies used SharePoint compared to all other companies. They found that these top 30% of companies, Aberdeen's SharePoint Champions, averaged a 26% increase in revenue in 2011 compared to a 7% increase for all other companies. Although this revenue increase cannot be solely attributed to optimized and social uses of SharePoint, Aberdeen explored how high performing companies collaborated and used SharePoint differently from all other organizations. Part I of this series will focus on the strategies and business goals that Champions sought to achieve as they deployed SharePoint.
