Report: Pols hitting up digital to reach voters

This election cycle the digital space is proving to be the hot ticket. That's the word from new Wise Data Media, which found that both the Republican and Democratic parties are pushing more ad dollars into the online space.

For example, during the summer Republican and Democratic convention, there were significant increases in both impressions and fill rates, in some cases the increases were up to 20%. Tomer Sade believes this trend will continue through the debates.

"The closer we get to the election debates, I expect to see growth in the overall CPM rate price as well as in the fill variations," said Tomer Sade, CEO, Wise Data Media. " In the next upcoming months until November 8th, our forecast is that there will be significant growth in the numbers, due to high interest and primary focus from the audience as well as from the publishers."

Other interesting findings from the report include:

• The biggest impression increases for Democrats were seen in Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania
• Ohio and Pennsylvania showed fill rate increases of 20% during both conventions
• was the most popular news-based domain during the Democratic convention

"The results taken from our advanced data platform plainly indicate the advantages for online publishers and advertisers during U.S. presidential campaigning," said Sade. "The high rate of impressions and low CPMs in comparison to the average for both throughout the year shows the benefits of ad campaigning during the elections. Even more specifically, benefits during campaign events. Also, upon further review of the research numbers, we can predict an in-line increase of Impressions and fill rates for the U.S. General Election, if not more of a surge."
