UK's favorite retailers revealed by the DMA
In a new survey from the DMA in the UK, just three out of consumers' top 20 favorite retailers are online-only, with one giant of the ecommerce scene topping the list.

Amazon has topped the DMA's list as the favorite retail brand among British consumers. One in four (25%) of 1,000 consumers surveyed by the DMA cited Amazon, followed by high street stores John Lewis (14%) and Marks & Spencer (10%).
Just three of the retailers in the top 20 are online-only - Amazon, eBay and ASOS.
The research also delved into consumer loyalty and found that most fall into one of three groups:
- 40% are actively loyal;
- 28% are actively disloyal; and,
- the remaining 32% are loyal depending on the context.
Just a quarter, (24%) of those surveyed are currently engaged in a loyalty scheme yet 46% of those not in a loyalty scheme would like to be in the future.
"Amazon is the world's best example of a company that couples a deep commitment to their customers with the power of data and technology," said Warren Jenson, president of Acxiom International and a former Amazon CFO. "The results are clear - a great personalised, relevant experience we all have come to love and trust. Brands everywhere need to understand Internet giants like Amazon have been perfecting data-driven marketing since they opened their doors. And they are not slowing down."
