Study: Most consumers satisfied with e-gift card buys

When it comes to buying items with online/e-gift cards, the vast majority of consumers rate their experience satisfactory. That's the word from new CashStar and Libran Research which found 91% of online gift card purchasers are satisfied with the experience.

The research also indicates and fewer and fewer gift card purchasers are doing so because they forgot about a birthday or event, but rather because they want the recipient to have options, and because the cards are easy to personalize.

Other interesting findings from the Gift Cards Through The Eyes Of Consumers study include:

• 5% say they buy gift cards because 'they run out of time'
• Most are interested in personalization of e-gift cards
• 24% purchase e-gift cards for themselves
• Plastic cards remain more prevalent than e-options
