Mobile Roundup: Partnerships and payment solutions

Partnerships are announced for SnapChat's new Snap Ads, a new payment offering for mobile merchants, and an expansion of a global mobile brand. Details in today's mobile roundup.

First, SnapChat will begin rolling out their Snap Ads, mobile video ad units, later this year, and Adaptly and Amobee have announced initial partnerships with the social network.

"We are very pleased to be an initial Snapchat Partner and have already seen strong demand from our advertising clients," says Nikhil Sethi, Adaptly co-founder and CEO. "As we build solutions for this important platform we will continue to have the most robust and powerful media buying solution for large brands and agencies."

"Snapchat is a mandatory environment for advertisers that want to reach millennials. Amobee's ability to deliver Snap Ads later this year will further our goal of providing brands with innovative digital marketing solutions through a unified technology platform and strategic industry alliances that will enable advertisers to connect with audiences at the optimal point of impact at scale."

Meanwhile, mobile ad platform Taptica has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea; the move with solidify their presence in the APAC region.

Hagai Tal, Chief Executive Officer of Taptica, said: "This new office in South Korea advances our strategy of increasing our presence in the Asia-Pacific region and I am delighted that we are already gaining traction. We welcome Hoon Lee to Taptica and look forward to benefiting from his significant expertise. Alongside our office in Beijing, we believe we are well positioned to become a leading player in this key growth market."

And Demandware is adding Apple Pay solutions through their Commerce Cloud platform; with more people shopping via smartphones and tablets, the addition of Apple Pay will make checkouts simpler for those using Apple's iOS.

"Our role at Demandware is to extend commerce to wherever the shopper is," said Elana Anderson, senior vice president of marketing at Demandware. "In the last year, mobile has become the consumer's number one choice for shopping, however, the checkout process hasn't caught up with this shift. Now, by enabling Apple Pay on their Demandware storefronts, merchants will be able to offer a frictionless checkout experience in Safari whether via mobile or desktop, easily converting traffic into sales."
