Security and compliance

"This is important mainly for organizations that need to comply with requirements like HIPAA or PCI. It then needs to be determined where to store sensitive data, how to protect data at transit and how to encrypt and secure data at rest," said Sarah Lahav, CEO of Sysaid Technologies.

Data center footprint and costs

"Besides allocating the right footprint and leaving room for growth, organizations need to take into account the different investments in operational costs derived from co-locating services and the capital costs associated with purchasing hardware," said Lahav.

Personal\people requirements

"When introducing new technologies, organizations sometimes tend to forget the skills that are required to run them," said Lahav. "Organizations need to make sure they have the right team and tools for the job."

Disaster recovery

"Building a redundant and robust environment is an essential part in increasing availability of any environment. It's very important to make these decisions based on the required RTO's (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO's (Recovery Point Objective)," said Lahav.

Seamless Interoperability and compatibility

"As with hybrid cloud, organizations are required to stretch their in house environment to the cloud, it is important to make sure both environments are compatible, so applications and services can be located on both environments and allow easy transition," said Lahav.
