Two new reports underline how consumers are engaging with mobile apps. Details in today's mobile roundup.

First, Unity Technologies reports that mobile game installs increased 30% from Q4 2015 to Q1 2016; China holds the strongest share of downloads with 31%. Android is beating iOS for downloads (81% share of downloads), but in iOS Land, the iPhone 5 and 6 are seeing the most downloads (28%).

"It's exciting to see the mobile games market continue to grow and thrive around the world, which translates into great opportunities for developers to bring their visions to life," said John Cheng, General Manager of Unity Analytics. "Unity has always focused on democratizing game development, solving hard problems, and helping developers succeed. To that end, we believe the in-depth information Unity Analytics provides, some of which is in this report, will help mobile developers prioritize and give them an edge as they make tough marketing and product decisions."

Meanwhile, Fiksu has released download numbers for the month of March; among the most interesting findings: overall downloads have slumped about 7% (February 2016 vs. March 2016). Still, more than 7.5 billion apps are downloaded daily. The Fiksu data also shows cost-to-acquire ratio's dropping to just over $3.
