Survey: SMBs optimistic about 2016

Why the positivity? Nearly half report their business improved from 2014 to 2015 and most believe that improvement will continue this year. However, that positivity doesn’t apply to the government. Nearly 80% say Congress ‘has not been effective’ in addressing SMB issues; most also believe Congress should play a bigger part in helping their businesses grow.

“While small business owners are upbeat about their own business prospects, it is clear that they believe Washington could do more to help stimulate small business growth,” said Endurance CEO and Founder, Hari Ravichandran. “Concerns about taxes and the ability to obtain bank financing remain front and center. Congress must prioritize small business issues in order to create long-term economic growth.”

Other interesting findings include:

• 57% expect to make financial investments in their business this year
• 42% plan to make new hires in 2016
• Taxes and Obtaining Bank Financing led the list of small business concerns
