HookLogic: Holiday shopping up significantly
We are just past the halfway point of the holiday shopping season, but so far experts are saying it is a win in the retail column. Cyber Monday is the biggest winner, with $2.29 billion in online sales, but Black Friday ($1.93 billion) and Thanksgiving ($1.06 billion) aren't far behind. Here's how the holiday season is shaking out.

Some of the biggest increases, according to HookLogic, are happening in conversions. Their data shows conversion rates through the first half of the holiday shopping season are 15 times higher than year's past, with most of the shopping being done after 9pm.
Mobile is the other big trend, with traffic from mobile devices outshining that of desktops on a regular basis.
"HookLogic predicted that Mobile would dominate holiday traffic, and so far it is true," writes the company. "Mobile has slowly and steadily been taking the lead vs. desktop browsing and searching, and during the holidays it spiked even higher. Shoppers are considerably more comfortable with mobile browsing and buying than they were just a year ago, driven by improvements in the user experience and larger screen sizes. From Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, Mobile traffic averaged 58%."
The data also shows people are taking time off from shopping over the dinner hour.
