Ad Roundup: Holiday insights for vendors
In today's ad roundup: insights into what gifts and venues will be popular for gift givers this holiday season.

First, HookLogic is following the early days of holiday shopping closely and so far their data indicates mobile is ahead of desktop where traffic is concerned. Thus far, researchers say mobile devices account for 50.2% of ecommerce traffic.
The data also shows shoppers are keeping at least 2 items in their shopping carts, but they aren't just looking for holiday finds. According to HookLogic items like 'flannel sheets' and 'pajamas' are being heavily searched right now; this is an indicator that the upcoming winter months are heavy on consumers' minds.
Meanwhile, in the lead-up to the official kick-off to the holiday season - Black Friday - one experts reminds retailers of the importance of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to their holiday success.
"2015 is the year mobile will change the face of Black Friday and Cyber Monday - so don't hold off your eCommerce strategy until Black Friday. In fact, we expect mobile browsing to account for over 50 percent of total eCommerce traffic on both these days," said Kurt Heinemann, chief marketing officer of Reflektion. "As recent data shows people begin the Black Friday shopping process by browsing on their phones on Thanksgiving Day, making consumers compelling offers on Thanksgiving will help them get a jump on their holiday shopping purchasing decisions. I believe that retailers who send less frequent, more targeted email promotions will have higher success than those who flood customers' inboxes."
And new Blackhawk Network data indicates gift cards will be big hitters this holiday season; their data shows that physical cards are the most popular option with nearly half (43%) getting plastic cards only for gift giving. The data also shows:
• 63% of e-gift cards are bought for personal use
• 58% of consumers have purchased e-gift cards
• 76% of Millennials have purchased e-gift cards, and 71% have used e-gift cards for gifts
