Survey: Sales staffs turning to mobile

Sales staffs are turning more and more to mobile devices, a fact of which marketing departments should be aware. Knowing how sales staffs are using technology can help marketing departments know how to get them the information they need.

According to the Seismic report most (78%) believe mobile devices are making work life simpler with 70% reporting they use tablets more often than they use smartphones for content management and presentations. Most (82%) reported they would like to have the Salesforce tool accessible on a wearable device.

"As sales reps spend less and less time in the office, having solutions--CRM, sales enablement platforms, etc.--that are mobile friendly has become essential," said Doug Winter, CEO, Seismic. "This increasing mobility has widened the gap between sales and marketing teams, making it more important than ever for marketers to ensure that sales collateral is available on the tools and platforms sales reps use most, like smartphones, tablets, Salesforce and email."

Other interesting findings include:

• Have believes sales and marketing teams 'do not work well together'
• 80% say they spend at least 2 hours each day on work related emails
• 70% say they spend at least 2 hours each day in the Salesforce platform
