Have you logged into your Google My Business account recently?

Those local businesses who have a Google My Business account should know that accounts may be unverified if they have not been active in the past six months.

According to a recent announcement from Google, posted by Jade Wang on the Google Business Help forum, emails have been sent to Google My Business users to confirm whether they are still active.

Those emails that go unanswered will be considered to be inactive and, if no activity has been registered on the Google My Business account for six months, Google may unverify page in the account.

"We're doing this in order to continue to provide users with the best experience when they're looking for local businesses like yours," says Wang in her forum post.

If you have not received an email, but have found your account to have been unverified incorrectly, that account may be restored by contacting Google support.
