Social Roundup: How brands are engaging in social

Two new reports shed light on how brands are engaging in the social space, and how social networks are changing how shoppers engage with their favorite brands.

According to Gigya Facebook is winning the social login war - the social network now accounts for most (64%) of all social logins. The closest competitor, in the social identity space, is Google+ while now holds about 21% of social logins. As for social commerce, Gigya's data indicates:

• Facebook holds 72% of ecommerce logins, G+ holds 19%
• Facebook holds 60% of media/publisher logins, G+ holds 19%
• Facebook holds 64% of overall logins in North America, G+ holds 20%
• Facebook holds 71% of European logins and 74% of Central/South American logins

Meanwhile, Forrester Wave's new Social Relationship Platforms report indicates Sprinklr is winning the customer satisfaction race for brands in social media. The platform monitors and responds to social media topics and also gives brands' insight into performance.

"Large brands face three options in how they will adapt to the age of social," said Lisa Larson, Senior Manager, Consumer Relations, Social Media Customer Care and Risk at Walgreens. "They can spend all of their time integrating dozens of point solutions or connecting silo reinforcing, function-centric clouds with each other. Since Walgreens is deeply committed to providing relevant and valuable experiences to our customers at every touch point, Sprinklr's integrated, end-to-end social suite that is designed to work across departments makes the most sense for us."

Finally, data out from Unruly indicates most video shares are coming from Facebook. In their recent report the company reported that nearly 60% of video shares are now coming from Facebook; comparatively less than 14% of shares come from Twitter, which is ranked second for video sharing.
