32% of Millennials spend 5 hours or more online via mobile each day

They are a generation that has grown up with Internet and mobile technology, so it really isn't that surprising to discover that they immerse themselves in it. But just how long do Millennials spend on their mobile gadgets?

According to a survey of more than 1,000 Millennials in the U.S. by, pretty much all (91%) spent at least half an hour online each day via their mobile device. At the weekends, 79% are online for 2 hours or more.

However, there's a large group of heavy users who spend over four hours plugged in each day (55%) and 32% who spend over 5 hours. Among those age 25-54 just 20% are such heavy users.


The primary reason they use mobile devices is for communication - more than 7 in 10 log in to a social network on a daily basis. Their main destinations are Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Google+.

More than half of Millennials surveyed felt that privacy policies need to be written such that they are easier to understand, just one quarter felt they adequately understood the contents of such policies. Having said that, 46% said that even though they agreed to privacy policies they did so without reading them first.
