Reports underline mobile's importance

B2X has released a global study that shows Americans are basically attached to their smartphones. That along with trends found by Monetate and Ebates are indicators that mobile will continue to be highly sought after in 2015.

According to their survey 98% of Americans sleep with their smartphone, just over half of Germans do the say and 57% of Indians say they 'can't live without' their smartphone. In Brazil people would rather give up a spouse for a week than their smartphone while in America, people said they wouldn't give up their phone for a week - even for $500.

"At B2X, we firmly believe that as the number of devices increases globally, there will be an ever increasing need for superior customer care and we aim to enable our clients to deliver nothing less to their customers worldwide," said Thomas Berlemann, CEO of B2X Care Solutions. "This survey illustrates the high importance of devices to people and the potential pain points they may have regarding customer support. With our big data intelligence and technology we can help our clients to detect potential support problems more quickly, enable real-time decision making, even on a predictive basis globally."

Meanwhile, Monetate finds there is a new trend in mobile and it's about the weekend. The company has been tracking sales revenue and traffic and according to their data mobile traffic is spiking over the weekend. This, they say, is a sign that mobile consumers are shopping throughout their downtime, rather than during a since trip to the mall, grocery store or big-box retailer.

"We have seen the volume of sales coming from mobile devices steadily increasing for the past year, and these most recent holiday results confirm the trend." said Ken Burke, CEO and founder of MarketLive Inc. "Shoppers are using smartphones with high-speed Internet connections to research and buy products, making shopping a true "on the go" experience. Retailers need to embrace mobile in all aspects of their business."

Finally, new data out from Ebates shows more people multi-tasking their holiday shopping. According to Ebates just over one-third (34%) of holiday shoppers say they're browsing online stores while at work; about 16% say they're spending 1-2 hours per week online shopping.
