Ecommerce Roundup: Shoppers findings leads on social media
With less than a week to go before Christmas most people have purchased their final gifts and are waiting for them to arrive and wrap. According to several sources e- and mobile commerce are pushing more and more sales.

According to The Custora E-Commerce Pulse ecommerce revenue for the first two weeks in December was up 16% over 2013 shopping numbers. Mobile is accounting for nearly one-quarter (24.3%) of ecommerce orders, an increase of more than 6% over 2013 shopping numbers.
Meanwhile, new data out from CrowdTap indicates the social space is influencing about 17% more holiday gift discoveries than last year; nearly two-thirds (64%) of holiday shoppers report they are inspired by gift ideas found on social media. Just over half say Facebook is the most influential of the social networks.
And, according to one report, there is still time to capture last minute shoppers.
"Last-minute shoppers need all the help they can get," said Pat Dermody, President of Retale. "They're turning to smartphones and tablets to help them find stores and check hours while on-the-go. The latter is especially important since most retailers offer extended hours in the days prior to Christmas. Seasoned last-minute shoppers know this and are using their mobile devices to keep track."
According to Dermody about 15% of shoppers will wait until the last minute to buy holiday gifts.
