Top 3 2015 prep tips

Halloween is right around the corner and before we know it, 2015 will have arrived. One expert offers his top 3 tips for marketers to get ready for the New Year.

First, meet with your sale leaders.

"[Sales leaders] are your partners and continued relationship growth to create and serve customers is critical. While sales may be more concerned about this month's quota, they're valuable for seeing trends and advising on the road ahead. Most importantly, working together to set joint marketing-sales metrics and service-level agreements assures you know what each group has to deliver," said Scott Vaughan, CMO, Integrate.

Second, review your current marketing playbook or create something new.

"This is an invaluable tool used to identify what's needed next in your technology stack. With a blueprint in hand, you can pinpoint and address the gaps in data and process flow to improve marketing performance from pipeline conversion to user experience," said Vaughan. "Marketing technology often involves IT colleagues, so set up a working session, whether it be with the CIO or your marketing technologist."

Third, assess your needs.

"Your employees are not only your most valuable asset, but real talent is hard to find in competitive markets. Securing new headcount is not easy, so take the time to both assess your team's aspirations and identify what type of talent is missing or needs to be upgraded. This is also a perfect time to start conversations with Human Resources and other executives about promotions for hard work and next-level career development for standout individuals," said Vaughan.
