Reports: Shoppers want convenience online and off
When it comes to shopping this year, consumers want convenience. That goes for both online and offline purchasing find two reports out just in time for the holiday rush. First, according to new data from Cisco about 60% of Americans are looking for stores that have apps so that they can shop faster.

According to the Cisco data a new breed of tech-savvy shoppers, fueled by their smartphones, are looking for stores with online apps so that they can immediately order out of stock items, get product information and get coupons.
"Consumers want the best of both worlds this holiday season -- they want the social aspects of in-store shopping coupled with the benefits enabled by the Internet of Everything," said Blair Christie, Cisco senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "This study shows that retailers who make investments in advanced technologies will be rewarded by tech-savvy shoppers with a larger discretionary income as well as build increased brand loyalty with young shoppers."
Meanwhile, new data out from Ebates finds the person most people find the least fun to shop for - is significant other. A recent survey from the online rebate center finds significant other shopping is especially hard for the wealthy. Meanwhile, the survey further found:
• 33% of Americans 're-gift' during the holidays, especially home décor, gift cards and wine
• 50% say they have 'just in case' gifts on hand, in case they are surprised by a gift from a friend/co-worker
• 84% say they'll shop online this holiday season
In fact, many say shopping online is better than in-store because they can avoid crowds, avoid driving and can have items shipped for free.
