Topsy to index every tweet ever tweeted
Have you ever wanted to see the social evolution of a brand or product, including missteps made in the early days of social media? Topsy has, and is offering that knowledge to everyone. The platform has indexed Twitter, including every tweet ever tweeted, since the platform's launch in 2006.
"We started Topsy to give our users a tool for capturing actionable segments of public conversation," said Vipul Prakash, Co-Founder and CTO. "By adding a full historical index, now we can even look even further back to the very first Tweets 7 years ago. We have all of Twitter indexed, meaning our users have access to the best, most accurate view of the world's social conversation on the planet."
The Topsy platform is a leading social analysis hub, allowing brand to discover and market in real time based on trending topics, questions or issues in the social space. The platform relies on social data to help brands reach their conclusions.
"With more than 425 billion tweets, videos, images, blog posts, and pins in our index, Topsy now provides more indexed, instantly retrievable social data than any Internet search engine," said Duncan Greatwood, CEO of Topsy. "At this scale, social participation, engagement metrics, and insights are an effective proxy for what the world cares about. Topsy has always been great at helping brands, agencies, and other organizations tap into the pulse of the world's conversation in real time. But now, with every tweet back to 2006 in the index, we're providing a complete historical context that helps companies understand and deliver on what audiences want, fuel better marketing campaigns, and make better business decisions."
Through the new index brands can better analyze and use the social space by following trends and taking action on relevant issues, events or people.
