WhatRunsWhere: First in-app ad tracking tool launched

Advertisers who want to see where competitors are spending their mobile ad dollars, or who simply want insights to improve their own mobile advertising, may be interested in what is being billed as the first in-app ad intelligence tool.

whatrunswhere logo.jpegCurrently only available for the Android platform, the newly launched tool from WhatRunsWhere will allow advertisers to see where competitors' ads are running, which creative is running where, who is selling those ads, and other intelligence that can help in the development of mobile strategies.

WhatRunsWhere's brand new in-app tracking tool also allows users to see what is happening on any online publisher: who is advertising there, who is selling the inventory, and what ads are running.

max.jpg"Until now, apps have been an informational black hole for marketers seeking to implement effective campaigns," says WhatRunsWhere co-founder and COO, Max Teitelbaum. "Advertisers and agencies were buying ads blind, with no real performance history data showing what types of ads had worked in what apps."

The launch of the in-app ad intelligence tool comes just six months after WhatRunsWhere's acquisition of Mobile Ad Spy, a UK startup specializing in mobile ad intelligence gathering.

At the time of writing, no pricing had been announced.
