Releases offer businesses mobile options
Two new releases to the mobile space should simplify how businesses do mobile business by easing the transition into branded events and ensuring the identity of those using mobile payments.
First, from Constant Contact, the EventSpot application offers advanced check ins and ticketing options for on the move businesses. Through the features event organizers can include specific attendee/customer information with the tickets generated to ease check-ins and those long lines to get into an event.
Meanwhile, the Passbook integration allows iOS 6 mobiles to download tickets with a single click - along with other tickets and loyalty cards.
"Small businesses clearly recognize the opportunity that mobile offers. Last fall we released results of an EventSpot Customer Survey in which 81 percent said they expect to increase their use of mobile technology to market their events in the coming year," said Chris Litster, vice president and general manager of EventSpot from Constant Contact, a comprehensive online event management tool designed for small organizations. "The savings, both time and money, that mobile technologies present to our customers are huge. With these mobile integrations, EventSpot is putting our small business and nonprofit customers at the forefront of mobile innovation in event management."
And from Jumio, the NetVerify platform is a real time identity verification option for Android users. The solution was originally cleared only for iOS. The platform makes it simple for businesses to identify a customer using a smartphone camera - Passports, Driver Licenses and other ID cards are used - to help reduce fraud.
"With fraud becoming rampant on mobile, businesses need the tools to both know and help protect their customers, while also providing them a more convenient way to verify their identities," said Daniel Mattes, CEO and Founder, Jumio. "Now businesses can move from taking days to verify a customer's identity to immediately authenticating a users' ID, transforming what has traditionally been a complex and costly process - ID verification - into an almost instantaneous transaction on both mobile and the Web."
