Tool offers SMB publishing option
Small business have a new option for content publishing. Out this week from Webcollage, the platform is set up to help small businesses create an syndicate content - including product information - to retailer websites.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for start-ups and smaller manufacturers," says Chuck Lepley of Orbotix. "Even if you are only offering a few SKUs, your product information can look just as professional and compelling as most recognizable global brands in the world. For our robotic gaming system, Sphero, Webcollage has been a key resource for distributing our content."
This type of tool has long been used by larger brands but in many cases is financially out of reach for SMBss. The Webcollage tool helps to level that playing field.
"The internet has leveled the field for smaller manufacturers who are now able to market to a vast number of potential buyers on retailer sites that carry their SKUs. With our new initiative, SMB customers have access to the same tools as global enterprise companies, capable of streamlining the process of transferring rich product information from the manufacturer to multiple retailers simultaneously," said Webcollage CEO Scott Matthews. "Item pages are populated with key elements like descriptive text and images, interactive product tours and a dynamic feature/benefit comparison chart, all aimed at driving shopper engagement and faster purchase decisions at the product page."
It works much the same as the tools built for enterprise level brands, but offers self-serve option. The tool also allows for the updating of product information and other content on retailer websites through Webcollage's retail network; information is connected through a product SKU. According to the company a new business can have their information up and running within a few hours and updates can be made instantaneously.
