Cloud-based tool takes hassle from signature process

One of the most time consuming areas for small businesses is getting signatures. Signatures from vendors, contracts and transactions can be time consuming, especially if the other party is in another town or even another country. A new solution, e-SignLive, may help small businesses by putting those signatures and that paperwork in the cloud.

Through e-SignLive SMBs can sign paperwork and obtain signatures online without the hassle of shipping contracts or waiting for that paperwork to be sent back. The solution is cloud-based, making it beneficial for small businesses because there is not software to install or hardware to buy; documents can be signed from any location through a web browser.

"Using e-SignLive, small and medium businesses now have the same features and benefits as the largest enterprises without breaking the budget," said Robert Al-Jaar, Executive Vice President, Online e-Signature Services, Silanis. "Our technology allows business to close faster, increase satisfaction, save on processing costs, reduce errors and remain fully compliant."

How does it work? Just like an in person, ink on paper signature - but without the need to be in the same room or use pen-and-ink. A business owner, for example, uploads the document that needs a signature, the signatory puts his or her e-signature on the paper and it's done. No waiting for a document to be shipped to another party, signed and shipped back. The documentation is handled online.

e-SginLive offers tamper evident protection of the documents. They platform is powered by Silanis, a leader in e-signature solutions, and is integrated with IBM LotusLive, an enterprise grade collaboration service. IBM LotusLive allows small businesses to connect with others, collaborate and sign documents regardless of location to one another.

    Hi Kristina,

Thank you for the article about E-SignLive. I have been using another product called EchoSign for years which is often recommended for virtual assistants, like myself when initially setting up a business.

I am always on the look-out for other 'virtual' products to suggest to my colleagues and it surprised me that I had not heard of E-SignLive. I was pleased to read your article. Thank you.

At first look, E-SignLive seemed no different from EchoSign however, when I delved in a bit further I noticed that the free version of E-SignLive offers 10 documents per month while EchoSign offers 5 documents per month.

I don't usually sign more than 2 or 3 new contracts per month, however, there are times I have gone over the 5 allotted if I am updating a contract or adding new language to a contract that requires a signature. So your article is quite timely.

And while solopreneurs won't often have the need to send out 10 documents per month, we are often asked by our clients for product suggestions for use in their own businesses.

I am sharing this on a virtual assistant industry forum and I believe this product will be quite useful. It is always great to have options.

    Best,

    Janine
