Claris/Euclid partnership offers etailers better performance
A new partnership, between Claris Solutions and Euclid Elements, should give online merchants more metrics - which could result in better overall performance. Through the agreement shopper data would help to improve website performance and develop custom options for merchants.
"The Euclid technology revolutionizes the way Claris can help our clients improve their store's performance," said Wade Mosteller, Senior Partner, Claris Solutions. "The data that is captured and reported by Euclid's solution gives our consultants valuable insight and leads to fantastic new ideas to improve retail operations."
The solution 'maps' retail traffic patterns through mobile sensors.
"Over the past few years, physical retailers have been at a distinct disadvantage compared to online retailers who have been able to leverage customer analytics to improve the web shopping experience. Through our sensor technology and analytics platform, we will be able to supply Claris with similar customer data for brick and mortar stores, allowing them to tailor programs and recommend operational improvements that can increase shopper satisfaction and customer loyalty," said Will Smith, Euclid Elements CEO.
Using WiFi, the sensors signal smartphones giving merchants in the platform the ability to track how consumers move through stores. The data is anonymous so there is no threat to shoppers. Once aggregated, merchants can determine how to change store layout, merchandising and even staffing to better serve consumers.
Through the 2011 holidays brick-and-mortar stores reported an uptick in the use of mobile barcodes and QR scanning; consumers, meanwhile, reported they were using mobile devices in-store to find product information, price check and make purchasing decisions. Using mobile technology in-store could help brands determine where in-store changes need to be made so that the shopper experience is upgraded.
