AisleBuyer release connects retailers to mobile shoppers

An update to the AisleBuyer platform may help retailers create a more efficient mobile shopping experience for their customer base. With the explosion of tables and smart devices an increase in traffic to mobile sites has already been seen; many of those shoppers are 'surfing' - window shopping - but as more brands become mobile-friendly those surfers will begin shopping and purchasing through mobile devices.

"This platform upgrade was designed to meet the needs of retailers at any stage of mobile commerce development. Version 2.0 will keep retailers ahead of their competition by providing a highly customizable and extendable platform that can quickly morph to meet the challenges of a dynamic mobile commerce environment," said AisleBuyer CEO Andrew Paradise.

Perhaps of most interest to etailers is the mShop SDK which allows retailers and developers to build branded mShop applications or use specific features to make the mobile experience more seamless. Features like mobile self-checkout or adding mobile wallet features could help retail brands build sites which are more functional to casual shoppers.

Other additions include:

• Web APIs to integrate data from other retail systems into the AisleBuyer mobile platform
• Merchant Dashboard which offers retailers high quality data points to provide real time analytics
• Merchandising controls for pricing at the store and chain level

For shoppers, meanwhile, the update means a streamlined mobile shopping experience based on twelve months of shopper feedback from the AisleBuyer system. They're analyzed how shoppers engage, which features are most used and created a more streamlined approach so the number of clicks needed to reach a product or compete a purchase are reduced.
