powerreviews.pngPowerReview's Facebook Community is the area in which brands will be most interested because it helps to make the social network a commerce driver. Through Community, brands can offer rewards to loyal consumers, create ambassador positions to encourage the sharing of brand or product information and offer a place where people can get more product information.

"Our customers have told us again and again how valuable product reviews are when they're shopping for something on our site, and these new features allow us to push the most relevant insights directly to them," said Billy Amicarelle, Director of Sales for Nutrex Research. "In doing so, we're able to bring some of the chance product discovery that happens in a brick-and-mortar store to the online experience."

Through Facebook Discovery consumers can follow reviewers, products, categories or even ask for advice, basically creating a conversation around products and information that can be branded to drive ecommerce traffic.

"This is true social commerce - facilitating the flow of information among consumers based on shared interests and attributes," said PowerReviews CEO Pehr Luedtke. "There is a growing body of evidence pointing to Facebook's value as a platform for commerce and a source of substantial traffic for retailers. With this launch, we're building on our core expertise in ratings and reviews and allowing brands and retailers to tap into the serendipity of the Facebook experience in order to drive better, more authentic product discovery."

It sure is interesting how social media can be so effective for ecommerce. I wonder how Google+ will react to this social commerce push by Facebook.

I still think that product reviews and ratings are move effective than just "Likes" and +1's
