Zaarly release offers local solution to m-commerce, social

This week a new option launched into the mobile space. Called Zaarly, the site is a kind of social connection between online shoppers, businesses and other consumers. It allows everything from the buying, selling or swapping of goods/services and even gives local businesses new client connections.

"Commerce between individuals happens all around us every single day," said Bo Fishback, CEO and Founder of Zaarly. "But until now, the opportunity to discover who in your community might already have what you are looking for was lost in a sea of noise. Now, whether you are buying groceries, need to find a caterer, want a ticket to a sold-out playoff game or are looking to borrow a flatbed truck for the day, you can use Zaarly to find out if someone close by has what you're looking for."

The site works similarly to more traditional social networks, with a simple commerce addition. Consumers post what they want (to buy, sell or swap) and the basic information of how much they'll pay or sell it for. The post is then shared across the local community; information can also be shared with existing Facebook or Twitter contacts. Then come the differences - local businesses can see the original posting and respond directly to the consumer. The site also has a credit card payment system in place.

Because the posts are location based, local businesses will have a kind of 'first option' to fulfill requests from purchasing or selling items or even picking up new clients. A messenger service, for example, might make a connection with a local consumer who needs to have packages delivered to a shipping hub or even to another business in the same town.

The application is available on iPhone, Android and other web-enabled devices as well as through PCs.
