BrainShark, Brightcove partner for video distribution

With the number of consumers engaging with video increasing month to month, brands are looking for more ways to engage those viewers. A new partnership between Brainshark and Brightcove offers one solution. Through the partnership Brainshark clients will be able to create and distribute videos through the Brightcove platform.

The partnership should increase traffic and visibility for brands.

"Online video has become a central piece of the marketing and communications mix for companies of all sizes that are looking to increase engagement with their audiences and build their online communities," said Chris Johnson, Director of Technology Partnerships with Brightcove.

Through the partnership brands using Brainshark to create more interactive online presentations will be able to add video to those presentations. The addition of music and video clips to presentations has been shown to increase their interactivity. Brainshark reports that one presentation is viewed every 2.5 seconds through their platform. Now clients will be able to publish those presentations directly to Brightcove's platform.

"Every businessperson should have the ability to communicate online in powerful ways using video. We're happy to be working with Brightcove to enable anyone to transform their static business content into high-impact video that can be shared across the web, social and mobile channels," said Kate Skelly, Vice President of Corporate and Business Development with Brainshark.

According to comScore consumers spent more than 14 hours with video content in December 2010, that is a 12% increase year over year. Also that month consumers watched 201 videos on average, an 8% increase year over year. More than 170 million US internet users streamed video content during the month, scoring just over 5 billion viewing sessions.
