Brainshark releases iPhone, iPad app for presentations
The world of online content is changing to include more mobile-friendly features, which can be difficult for brands using not only readable content and images but voice and video features. A new release from Brainshark simplifies the mobile experience through iPhone and iPad apps.
The apps, released today, give consumers the ability to engage with presentation content not only at a PC but through their mobile device. Brainshark presentations are created similarly to PowerPoint but with added functionality such as voice recordings, video content, attachments and music.
"iPhones and iPads are increasingly popular vehicles for consuming business content, and we're pleased to provide the Brainshark App to address this segment," said Joe Gustafson, Brainshark CEO. According to one report, as many as 75 million tablet units, mostly iPads, will ship in 2011.
With the apps users can thumb through slide titles to choose the content most relevant to them, making navigation simpler. Attachments can be downloaded and then the content can be shared through email, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
"Being 'reachable by cell phone' while out of the office is no longer enough. Today's information workers need to remain connected, productive and in-the-know at all times," said Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner, Wainhouse Research. "The new Brainshark App for the iPhone and iPad brings the power of the Brainshark platform, and more importantly, access to their company's library of on-demand rich media presentations, to iOS users around the world without sacrificing manageability or the user experience."
One expert estimates that there are 750 million consumers (worldwide) engaging with online presentations. The key to engaging these consumers is to make the presentation relevant, keep it updated and to track how consumers are engaging so that tweaks can be made throughout its lifespan.
