What is the top topic of conversation online?
According to a recent report from web monitoring and research firm Synthesio, the top topic of conversation online is about health (sex was not included in the 40 categories used).
That’s right. The Internet is a hypochondriac’s playground. Fourteen percent of the 200 million conversations monitored by Synthesio concerned people’s health.
When not worried about strange rashes or bird flu, the second most talked about topic is gaming. Thirteen percent of Internet users are talking about cheats, reviews or discussing the quickest way to heal in Halo.
Surprisingly, talking about cars is in third place (10%) ahead of I.T. (9%).
In essence, people across the globe are using the Internet to talk about their problems, be it their health, how to achieve the next level in a game or why a warning light has lit up on their car dashboard, and solving those problems via others.
