How a video hosting service can improve your vid-reach

Video is a strange and mysterious - although coveted - beast for most online marketers. Many want video, but they aren't certain how to create, host and distribute quality video content without other advertising areas suffering. Although a video hosting service doesn't help with the concept of a video clip, it can help with the hosting and distribution, leaving marketers to focus on the all-important content.

vzaar.pngJust how engaging can video be? Consider that, according to comScore, 84% of American consumers watched video clips in June. Those consumers, on average, spent nearly 5 minutes with each viewed clip. But the biggest benefit is the ability to get really creative with video.

Consider online florist Arena Flowers, which allows consumers to attach a personal video to each flower order. "We allow anybody who orders flowers online to add a video of themselves. They record the video and upload it to our website and we send it to the recipient on receipt of the flowers," said Will Wynne

Of course, that wouldn't be possible without a video platform; so Arena Flowers tapped vzaar to host and distribute their video clips. The premium service leaves Arena Flowers in control of the content created but frees them from hosting the content on their ecommerce site. In the last 18 months, vzaar has signed 1,000 other US and UK businesses to their hosting service as video has continued to grow. Other early adopters of the video platform include WalMart and Luzern Solutions; the platform allows these brands to add videos to large numbers of product pages and items without using exorbitant amounts of space.

Through vzaar brands can create custom playlists and video players, use domain control or encoding, and integrate video direct with ecommerce tools to drive sales and clicks.

The benefit to having a service host video clips? "vzaar is designed for serious business video hosting unlike other free services," said Stephen McCluskey, CEO of vzaar. "Any business not using video to communicate and sell is living (and dying) in the Stone Age."
