New Facebook feature to make creating ads easy

Facebook aims to take the frustration out of creating advertisements on the social networking site and is testing a "Suggest An Ad" feature that automatically assembles an ad.

facebook logo.gifThere has been no official announcement from Facebook, but speculation is rife that a "Suggest An Ad" feature will soon be made available that will enable advertisers to create a Facebook ad, complete with text and images, with just a few clicks. The feature works by pointing to a URL from which the elements for the ad are automatically collected and collated.

The "Suggest An Ad" feature was first brought to the attention of the masses by German blogger Jens Wiese, who posted about the discovery on his blog.

"If this button is able to increase ad sales conversions by 2%, for example, Facebook could see an $8 million increase in ad revenue per year," according to AllFacebook's Nick O'Neill. "Granted, 2% is a major adjustment for any new feature, but given Facebook's scale, new features of any size to the company's advertising platform should be watched closely."

ClickZ, also reporting on the new feature, couldn't get anything out of Facebook and an official announcement has not yet been made. However, they did manage to get a Facebook spokesperson to confirm that a feature to help "streamline the ad creation process" was being tested.
