RatePoint opens email to include social

As marketers look ahead to the New Year many are contemplating the addition of social marketing and hoping the social marketplace will improve the ROI of campaigns. A new offering from RatePoint, a customer service and online reputation management company, could help. The new platform quickly integrates email efforts into the social marketplaces of Facebook and Twitter, two of the hottest social properties in 2009.

When development is ready, the marketer simply clicks a button to add social functionality. The platform places customized messages on Twitter and Facebook.

"It's imperative that SMBs understand these new channels that have emerged, determine which social channels their customers use, and interact with them through the networks that they frequent the most," said Neal Creighton, co-founder and CEO, RatePoint. "The social Web is changing consumer connections and presenting SMBs with even more opportunities to efficiently connect with their customers. Sharing through social networks is an ideal way to reach additional customers and participate in the exciting conversations happening in social media."

According to a VerticalResponse report social media and marketing are one of the hot properties expected for both large and small businesses in the New Year. The problem is that many marketers, especially smaller brands and companies, aren't equipped to add yet another advertising property with any effect. Having a platform which helps integrate social into other marketing efforts is a good step forward.
