PointRoll expands publisher services

With more brands and marketers creating their own content and becoming publishers of blogs, newsletters and other online material, most are looking around for more in-depth solutions to make the most of such content. An expanded platform from PointRoll could be of service to many as it offers publishers the ability to serve high-impact ads as well as custom programs.

The new tools available on PointRoll's Channel Team include updated video offering, viral and mobile offerings and dynamic messaging. This allows content to be updated in real time - a must for online and mobile publishers; the platform also offers advanced options including behavioral, demographic and geographic changing.

"PointRoll is helping publishers provide the most engaging ads possible, find new ways to elevate content, and ultimately increase revenue," said Jason Tafler, CEO of PointRoll. "The tools from our Publisher Customer Solution Suite will enable more custom programs that help publishers achieve creative, impactful ads, protect CPM's and stand out from the competition."

Here is a breakdown of the new offerings:

• PointRoll [email protected] enables publishers to pull editorial content into rich media ad units
• Video offers mass video distribution within any ad space
• Dynamic Messaging delivers brand messages within ad units based on geography, demographic or behavior
• Viral/Mobile allows the sending of personalized and pre-recorded messages via SMS

As with offline publishing, online publications need good content, good creative and the right ads or consumers will not return to the site or engage with the content.

Five early stage publisher partners with the new platform include Discovery, iVillage, Univision, quadrantONE and Undertone Networks.
