Free tools allow searchers to 'dyve' deeper into results
Deep Web's research engine, DeepDyve, has release three new tools to help searchers and websites get more from search queries. The tools allow websites and bloggers to display related articles and return search results directly into websites and blog posts, giving users more of what they want - and keep them on-site longer.
The first tool is More Like This Content API, which displays query results similar to the information already displayed on a webpage. This allows publishers and bloggers to give a 'related articles' return so that the user is less likely to leave the site to find more information.
The second tool is called the Content Highlight Widget which allows websites to ingrate search with the way users read or browse the website. It can highlight a block of text of up to 5,000 characters and run that as a query with just one click.
The final tool is a WordPress Plug-In which gives bloggers the ability to include 'related articles' into a blogpost; basically a blog post becomes a query and will return relevant search results.
"DeepDyve's vision is to make Deep Web content more accessible to everyone, particularly the 50 million knowledge workers who represent a very broad cross-section of today's internet users," said William Park, CEO of DeepDyve. "Our search tools are designed to help websites adapt to this changing user behavior by integrating related search results with their content. This keeps users engaged, and gives them the ability to search both surface and Deep Web resources without ever leaving the website they're visiting."
