Apptera lauches a mobile ad channel
A new mobile channel may help marketers better engage young consumers, a demographic important because younger consumers are more likely than older consumers to utilize the mobile space. The channel delivers targeted, relevant ads to consumers between 18 and 34 years of age.
"Apptera's new Mobile Generation Channel provides marketers the powerful ability to deliver relevant voice & visual ads to millions of young consumers, on one of their most personal possessions - their mobile phone," said Henry Vogel, president and CEO of Apptera. "Reaching this audience at the exact time they are making plans for an evening or planning their next social gathering is a golden moment for advertisers. These moments offer powerful branding opportunities as well as compelling direct response catalysts for advertisers to drive specific calls-to-action."
The platform uses voice and visual ad insertion methods to reach consumers. HeyTango and Tatango are two of the first companies to use the new platform.
Apptera's system already boasts in-call ads for companies such as MovieTickets.com and AT&T's 1-800-YellowPages. By advertising in call marketers basically have a captive audience. As consumers are on hold or waiting to connect, they are simply holding the phone to their ear. Yet the consumer can't ignore what they are hearing in the phone or they will miss the conversation.
