Aflexi offers delivery management for content providers

Malaysia-based Aflexi has officially launched their new space, with word that their content delivery solution is now available on a trial basis for web hosts and content distributors. Previously the company offered this for content distributors and ISPs.

Content providers live and die by delivery times. Aflexi created their solution with this in mind; their content delivery solution uses a network of ISPs rather than a single network or provider so that they could control the speed of delivery. When working with a single ISP or network content distributors are susceptible to downtime and lagging delivery; according to Aflexi, their solution bypasses this by using more than one network or ISP.

"In a nutshell, our CDN consists of server-side delivery software for webhosts to run to form their own CDN, and a marketplace where webhosts can connect with other webhosts to expand their CDN footprints," wrote Whei Wong, Aflexi CEO on the Aflexi blog. "Existing single-server solutions were not sophisticated enough to serve increasingly rich broadband content. Building a CDN for myself would incur massive investment for the delivery software, let alone the network infrastructure. It then struck me that instead of building the delivery software solely for myself, it could be licensed to other webhosts so they can mutually benefit from it."

The platform is currently in pre-launch; content providers and distributors can sign up for a free trial on the website.
