Examiner.com partners with Jivox for local video ads
Local website hub Examiner.com is partnering with Jivox, an online video advertising service, to provide local marketers with local online video ads. Examiner.com operates 60 geographically targeted, local hubs; the new partnership will allow local marketers to run video ads locally on Examiner.com sites or throughout the entire Jivox Publisher Network.
"Online video advertising is exploding, and the types of advertisers that come to Examiner.com can benefit greatly from affordable and easy-to-use solutions like Jivox," said Michael Sherrod, CEO of Examiner.com. "Jivox has shown that online video advertising can be very effective for local businesses, and we're confident our local focus on unique and original local information, contributed by local informed insiders called Examiners and our partnership with Jivox will create new high-engagement, locally focused opportunities for our advertisers."
The Jivox platform allows online advertisers to create their own video ads at a reasonable rate; the ads use stock footage, images and music. From there marketers can personalize the messages.
According to the latest research from comScore more than 13 billion videos were viewed online in October; that is a 45% increase year over year. Although most videos are still viewed over the YouTube platform, media sites are gaining ground which is a good sign for marketers. Because consumers are turning to more hubs, there is a greater chance for a video ad to achieve good results.
