Yahoo Web Analytics tool launched
Yahoo's acquisition of IndexTools in May of this year has led to this week's announcement of their new analytics product, currently being rolled out in beta on a limited basis.
Yahoo's new Web Analytics tool is packed with features that will prove invaluable to website owners who want raw data within minutes of collection. It is being offered free to those who accept the standard Yahoo agreement.
Yahoo stated that the new tool will provide valuable insights and data including real-time segmentation, live cost analysis, merchandise reporting, scenario analysis, comparative reporting, advanced path analysis, and marketing workflow management.
Yahoo Web Analytics will be launched in phases, starting with small businesses, throughout the remainder of 2008 and into early 2009, as Dennis Mortenson, director of Data Insights at Yahoo explained in a recent blog post. "This is not just random access as in handing out 15000 logins, but well thought through integration with the platforms themselves," he said.
"If you e.g. are a Yahoo! store owner you can enable enterprise-class web analytics by simply ticking a box and we then automatically inflate the correct tracking script variables at runtime. You are of course allowed to turn this off and take control yourself if needed."
