How to boost your next online campaign response
Consumers are a fickle bunch; this is true in the online and offline world. But, there are a few tricks you can use in your next online campaign to help boost response rates - thereby boosting campaign ROI. MarketingSherpa found in a recent study that there are three near-sure-fire ways to improve campaign response.
First, add pictures. Not just any pictures, but pictures of people. Why? According to the report adding pictures of people in a marketing campaign automatically adds emotional depth; this increases the engagement level of the consumer viewing the ads.
The second tip is to add date-entry fields. Again, not random data fields will work; these added fields should be email address fields for newsletter/email list sign-ups or product search fields. Why? Because this is another way to categorize the consumers clicking on ads so that marketers can serve more relevant information to them. The more relevant the information served, the deeper the engagement level and the better the chances of conversion.
Finally, consider adding video. Consumers like new media. They like clickable ads, they like user generated content and they like video. As with the other two suggestions, however, the video served has to be relevant so that it creates a deeper level of engagement on behalf of the consumer. Video gives marketers the ability to add more information into an ad campaign than simple text or a single picture.
Done right, additions like video, pictures and specific data fields can help increase engagement and conversions. Do a simple A/B split-test to see which additions will work the best in your next campaign.
